Never before has there been such
a lavishly costumed spectacle of
equine fun, thrills, drama, dance
and skill set to specially arranged
music and performed by the largest
and most popular equestrian touring
theatre show in Europe.
Chimera...the classic 2000-year-old
tale of good and evil, which became
the legend of St George and the
Dragon and is now the theme for
the most ambitious production to
date by SPIRIT OF THE HORSE. Originating
in Greek mythology the fable was
spread by travellers as they journeyed
to distant lands. The story was
so popular in Russia and England
that St George became the patron
saint.
The only way the evil of Chimera...
can be defeated is through the intervention
of a very special mount! So welcome
the return of one of Spirit of the
Horse's most popular equestrian
stars - PEGASUS - "the winged
horse". With a wingspan of
more than 20ft, this gentle and
astounding fantasy horse is chosen
to rescue the beautiful Delphine
and challenge Chimera - part lion,
part serpent part goat.
You will be astounded by the sheer
size of the amazing Chimera, which
was created for the show by Mahogany
- the Harlsden-based carnival costume
designers. But this is more than
just "a costume" it is
a 'living' kinetic sculpture which
uses the human body to magnify and
stylise the movements to create
unique art form. Designed by Clary
Salandy and engineered by Michael
Ramdeen, the four-meter high creation
requires three highly skilled operators
to choreograph the movements. Mahogany
supplies carnival costumes world
wide as is best known for its major
artistic contribution to the Notting
Hill Carnival.

NOELIA AARGON and THE SPIRIT OF
THE HORSE DANCE COMPANY.

Robert Fossett's Arabian Stallions
presented by Nikki Fossett. Without
one word of command, Nikki controls
her prized stallions as if communicating
by telepathy as they execute a complex
