Established
by an independent collective dedicated
to the promotion of the highest quality
Live Music and Creative Arts, the Boileroom
is firmly rooted in the philosophy that
people want more than binge-drinking and
cooky-cutter branding; they want high
quality entertainment, they want the arts,
they want music and they want it in an
environment that’s clean, that’s
welcoming and that’s open to everyone.
The Boileroom is all of these things and
more.
Since opening in September 2006 the
Boileroom has played host to a spectacularly
wide range of events. In addition to the
Boileroom’s staple of Live Music
and Club Nights it’s intimate and
flexible space has borne witness to Film
Festivals, Jazz Workshops, Art Installations,
Spoken Word and Poetry Nights, D.I.Y Music
and Arts Festivals, Creative Writing Workshops,
as well as opening daily as a live music
bar serving it’s increasingly renowned
noodle menu...
Nonetheless, Live Music is at the very
heart of the Boileroom’s remit,
as is its commitment to providing the
very best in innovative, cutting edge
performances. Bands to have graced the
Boileroom stage so far include the Noisettes,
Newton Faulkner, Foals, Youthmovies, We
Start Fires, DJ Vadim, Good Books, the
Hedrons, Elle Milano, Frank Turner, Jungle
Drummer, Boy Hits Car, Spiers and Boden,
This Ain’t Vegas, Abram Wilson,
Acoustic Ladyland, Meet Me In St Louis,
Miles Hunt, Errors and Mercury Award nominee
Soweto Kinch, not to mention DJ sets from
Peter Hook formerly of New Order/Joy Division
and Kele from Indie superstars Bloc Party.
But more than any of this what defines
the Boileroom is it’s independent
spirit; a burning desire to do something
genuinely different, to break new ground
and above all to take risks in the name
of creative and artistic license.
